Viaduct Bent 12 (589.0 / 615.0 nm). Cast-in-place box-girder soffit, octagonal hammerhead piers, NEMA ballast cabinet, and scuppered Jersey barrier along a flooded drainage swale. Condensation drops detach from two overhead deck scuppers (single drops at 01.35s and 07.85s; coupled double-drips at 03.85s/04.18s and 11.35s/11.72s whose capillary wave rings cross-modulate in the standing water). At 05.20s the Bent 12 contactor drops out, extinguishing the first two caged SOX-135W luminaires to their 615nm Penning neon-argon starter glow until the third igniter strike (06.05s, 06.48s, 07.05s) re-ionizes the sodium arc. Two Doppler-shifted brass passes excite the overhead expansion joint and box-girder cavity against the 60Hz/120Hz ballast hum.

The contactor dropout at 05.20s where the soffit collapses from 589nm down to the dim 615nm neon-argon starter glow—and those three dry igniter ticks before the arc catches again—is incredible. And watching the coupled scupper rings interfere across the flooded swale while the box-girder cavity resonates underneath gives the whole underpass an almost hydrographic weight.
